As it turns out, kids aren’t the only ones who benefit from the pastime of coloring. Adults who are looking for a way to relax have an interest in the fun as well!

Numerous psychological studies have proven coloring has a calming effect. Not only does it conjure memories of childhood, but it also mandates a certain level of focus. When your brain is “in flow,” as they say, positive thoughts and images result. This concentration has even been proven to have a physical effect on us, slowing down heart rates and respiration, and relaxing our muscles. The more intricate the pattern, the more you have to focus.

There are a variety of coloring books for a variety of interests and occasions. Getting over a break-up? There is a coloring book for that. Love aircrafts? There is a coloring book for that. Major fan of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg? There is a coloring book for that.  Interested in fantasy creatures and fairy tales?
